Sephora VIB Sale Spring 2019

When it comes to the Spring, there are two things I look forward to... warmer weather & the Sephora VIB Sale.

It's the event of the season - we all know it's coming so we hold out on our refills and purchases until the dates are announced. As i am writing this - the days have not been announced but once they are I will update this post.

This isn't your average 'Sephora Wishlist Blog Post' even though I will talk about the products I recommend and will purchase for myself - there are quite a few items I DO NOT recommend buying, during the sale or at all. These products have not worked for me and these are my opinions weather I don't think they are worth the money, or if I just didn't like the product.

So there are three categories I wanted to share with you;

1. Products that are currently in my shopping cart - and have been for months now in anticipation for the sale

2.  Items that I own currently and suggest you own too because they are AMAZING

3. Items I DO NOT recommend getting... this is a different one but these are the items I've either tried and didn't like or one's that I don't think are worth the hype or money

OK, so let's get this shopping party started. Starting with my Wishlist:

My Sephora Sale Wishlist

1. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner Mini $30 CAD

Finished up my Milk Makeup Matcha Toner and have heard a ton of recommendation from my insta fam who love this toner and highly recommend it. It also smells devine and looks very hydrating. I want to try the mini first before I purchase the full size.

2. Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask Mini $34 CAD

A product that has tons of hype and love surrounding it and the only thing stopping me is the price... until they launched a MINI! People often compare it to the YTTP Dream mask which I love so I thought I'd give it a try once I'm done with that one. I'd mostly apply it as a thick moisturizer to soak in as I sleep, rather than wash it off as a mask.

3. Fresh Sugar Peach Hydrating Lip Balm $22 CAD

This product just launched at Sephora but is currently out of stock. I am assuming they will restock for the sale. I already love the scents and formula of their other balms (coconut and caramel), peach just seems like the most delicious scent - I can't wait to try it.

4. Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation $55 CAD

I add oil to my foundation anyway so an Oil Foundation just makes sense! I heard that this has a powdery finish which I am both intrigued and skeptical. I usually like my skin to look like I just smothered it in oil lol. I colour matched and I'm shade 2.

5. Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream $48 CAD

I'm on the hunt for a great eye cream, this one is a crowd fave so I thought I'd give it a try. It's supposed to moisturize and brighten. If you have any recommendations let me know.

My Recommendations

Moving on to the products I own and recommend you buying during the sale (some of which I will be repurchasing during the sale):

1. Youth to the People Dream Mask $59 CAD

Hydrated skin is an understatement - you're face will never look so moist and plump in the morning. The worst part about a face mask is that you have to wash it off - but not with this one. I apply a generous layer to my skin after my skincare routine and let it soak into my skin all night long.

2. Youth to the People Superfood Face Wash $45 CAD

I have fallen in love with this cleanser. It might seem pricey for just a cleanser but it has lasted me over 6 months! It cleanses my skin and removes all my makeup in one step. I have no desire to ever try another cleanser.

3. Drunk Elephant Protini $84 CAD

The protini is the priciest moisturizer I've ever tried but the best by FAR. I am convinced this moisturizer does it all, it clears my skin, hydrates and makes it look smoother than ever.

4. Milk Makeup Flex Concealer $34 CAD

I don't wear a lot of makeup but when I do my favourite product to use is the flex concealer. I've probably repurchased it 5 times by now. I've even tried other concealers in between repurchasing but nothing compared to the natural finish and perfect colour match. For reference I'm shade Fair.

5. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Primer $40 CAD

Want to get that Bob Ross smooth canvas? look no further. This primer feels like a smoothing primer without clogging your pores and leaving your skin feel moisturized. It gives the perfect base for under makeup and makes my foundation stay on all day and night.

6. Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Tinted Lash Primer $33 CAD

This product is the least hyped and I have no idea why. For someone who likes no makeup makeup days it gives a natural soft brown tint to the lashes and acts as a fantastic base if you wanted to layer on a coat of black mascara on top for really dramatic lashes. It does it all.

7. Drunk Elephant Night Bright Duo $36 CAD

The Marula oil in this duo is the best facial oil I've ever tried. It has a thickness that moisturizes the skin to no end while penetrating the skins surface to keep it locked in. It is better value to get this set than buying the full size or half size of the Marula Oil, it's also a great travel item as it has a pump and no glass bottle.

8. Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist $59 CAD

Pricey as all hell - but 1000000% worth it. Everyone needs to try this face mist at one point in their life and the best time to try it is during the sale. I've purchased 3 or 4 bottles in my lifetime and even though I don't plan on repurchasing it anytime soon, it's an incredible product that is essentially a moisturizer in a spray bottle. It's milky hydrating formula coats the skin with a fine mist that is so decadent it could be fit for a Queen... yeah you, you're the Queen.

9. Sephora Collection Face Mask Applicator $10 CAD

Best $10 I've ever spent if you like masking. This face mask applicator makes applying face mass super easy, never messy and quick! Once side applies the face mask with a silicone paddle and the other has a gentle exfoliating bristles that take off the face mask. I've purchased one of these for all my friends as everyone needs one and it's very reasonable at only $10!

10. Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek Stick in Werk $17 CAD

This is a favourite makeup item for me. I love the look of natural skin with glossy cheeks. This kip and cheek stick is fabulous for a creamy blush that you can apply straight from the tube. Super blendable and buttery. Werk is the perfect shade for everyday. I suggest getting the mini as you'll never go through the full size and it's a better size to pop in your purse and apply to your lips as a balm.

Products I Don't Recommend

Finally, the products that I do not recommend you spend your money on: (disclaimer - I personally did not like these products, you may have a different opinion)

1. Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask $59 CAD

This burned the crap out of my skin - I advise you to try a sample before you apply to your entire face and if you have sensitive skin, be even more cautious.

2. Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser $44 CAD

I was not a fan of the smell - probably because I'm used to my YTTP one that barely has a scent, it stung my skin a bit because it is also an exfoliator so I couldn't use it with my Glossier Solution which I use almost daily.

3. Rosebud Perfume Co. Mint and Eucalyptus Lip Balm $8 CAD

As a lip balm addict I had to at least try this brand and I was not impressed. Save your money on this one, was too thin to actually stay on my lips for 30 minutes and did absolutely nothing but dry my lips out even more.

4. Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm $22 CAD

A good product, however it only lasted me a month! There is little to no product in the tube and not worth the price for the amount of product in the tube.

5. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask $24

There is no better lip treatment - HOWEVER, this product is sold on a Korean Beauty site that sells them for half off, I highly recommend this lip balm however do not buy it at the Sephora price - the website is
